Due to Generation Mama containing 100% plant derived ingredients, you may find that in particularly cold temperatures the balm needs some warming between your fingers before application. This should only take a few seconds (if needed at all) before the balm is ready to be applied to save your sore nips! This does not affect the quality and effectiveness of the balm in the slightest.

    How to use

    Ensure that your hands are clean before application then simply take a moment to warm up the balm between your fingers and apply directly to your nipples and the surrounding area. You can use before and/ or after breastfeeding. Generation Mama Nipple Cream can be used as often as desired between feeds.

Breastfeeding balm is much lighter in consistency than breastfeeding creams, especially those containing lanolin. It is purpose-designed to smooth onto your nipples like a second layer of skin and was created in response to calls from mamas for a thinner, lighter, natural alternative that is easily absorbed, doesn’t become clogged in nipple pads and doesn’t contain any ingredients derived from animals, including lanolin or beeswax.

This product is 100% natural and, as with all entirely natural products which contain shea butter, your balm may require some warming between your fingers before you apply (this is only if it is being kept in particularly cold conditions). Any graininess that you feel will quickly disappear within a few seconds as the balm warms, and its natural soft creamy texture will return. We like to think of this as a small price to pay for a 100% natural, vegan, animal friendly formula with no lanolin or beeswax that really works.

Yes, it's totally safe for baby to ingest.

Most breastfeeding creams available on the market contain lanolin and it’s totally your choice as to whether you choose to use one with or without lanolin. At Generation Mama we were determined to create a product which worked effectively without the use of lanolin due to the consistency being very thick and also due to it being an animal derived product and therefore not vegan friendly.
